Job Description

Software Engineer (SC Cleared)

Duration: 6 Months

Rate: £600 per day

Location: Hybrid working (Two days per week based on site in either Hampshire or South Wales)

Start: ASAP

IR35 Status: Inside

 

An experienced Software Engineer (SC Cleared) is required for our Government Client to be part of their Digital Services team who support and develop technology in GCP that integrates with Blaise and other software.  This is a dynamic role which is  pivotal in guiding the team through technology transition, providing opportunities for the team to develop modern technology, upskilling and ensuring smooth decommissioning of legacy technology.

 Responsibilities include:

Guide the ways in which the team works.

Be proficient in a wide range of technical systems and involved in identifying appropriate technology and approaches, deciding when software should be written.

Able to contribute to the community, providing technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring the team, promoting knowledge sharing and adoption of good practice.

Communicate with stakeholders on behalf of technical teams.

 

The projects within the Clients Blaise programme are developed using the following technologies:

 Services developed in JavaScript, Python, .Net and C#

SQL

GCP

AWS

 

Essential Skills & Experience required:

As a Software Engineer with current SC Clearance you will possess the following:

Extensive knowledge and experience of:

Providing mentorship, guidance and technical leadership to other team members

Expert in cloud practices, preferably GCP

Expert level C# and Python

Software design and architecture in a number of different environments (microservices, EDA, SOA etc.)

Software development using a variety of tools, languages & technologies including OO and functional paradigms

Integration using both synchronous and asynchronous technologies

Multithreading, concurrency and scalability

Relational databases 

CI/CD best practices

Test automation techniques

Integration with 3rd party software

Knowledge of containerisation using Docker and container orchestration using Kubernetes
