Scrum Master

A reputable financial organisation based in Birmingham are seeking a talented and technology-enthused Scrum Master to join their organisation and play a pivotal role in delivering multiple transformation projects.

You need to be passionate about designing and developing financial products, ideally within a regulatory environment.

Job Duties

Guiding the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers
Guiding the team on self-organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks
Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.
Take full responsibility for the delivery of the Backlog
Liaise with PMs / external stakeholders & keep them engaged on the backlog progress
Sizing / Estimating
Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
Managing dependencies including 3rd party liaisons
Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
Supporting and educating the Product Owner / Business Champions, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example
People management of the squad

Skills Required

Proven experience as a Scrum master for a squad of software engineers
Experience of backlog delivery on platforms underpinned by Java / APIs / Microservices and similar technology stack
Understanding of Microservices
Understanding of DevOps
Line / People Management skills
Expert in collaboration tools such as JIRA
Understanding of Software Release Management lifecycle
