Case Study

Background

In an increasingly complex and contested operating environment, Defence requires robust, secure and interoperable digital capabilities to support informed decision-making at pace. This case study describes how Certes supported a defence organisation handling highly sensitive information to enhance its targeting management and command-and-control capabilities.

Project Objective

To strengthen existing targeting management capabilities and streamline integrated functions by leveraging multi-source intelligence feeds within a secure environment, ensuring interoperability in support of operations.

Solution

  • Deploy a highly vetted Certes delivery team, which consisted of DevOps, campaign strategy, data engineering, service design, data science and delivery management.
  • Design, prototype and implement Palantir-based applications for live operations that strengthen Command and Control.
  • Built to integrate with existing systems to improve visibility of intelligence and commanders’ situational awareness.
  • Close collaboration with the wider organisation to ensure mission-focused design using Palantir and accelerated adoption, and to share practices and tooling with the Digital Targeting Web.
  • Drawing on the experience of two seasoned advisors, both with experience at the highest levels of Government, to ensure that all digital solutions align with best practice and the broader strategic intent.

Results

  • DevOps implemented 6 Palantir applications into live operational service.
  • Delivered enhanced functionality to Palantir projects, which has significantly improved cross-team coordination and operational tempo.
  • Reduced manual workloads and reliance on legacy tools.
  • In line with organisational priorities, Certes drives progress by accelerating the adoption of Palantir solutions, standardising digital processes, strengthening allied collaboration, and taking our learning and sharing it with the wider organisation.
