Cyber Security Manager

FTE: 1.0 FTE (working 37 hours per week) Duration of Contract: Permanent Salary: UH9 £54,421 pa to £61,228 pa with potential to progress to £64,946 pa on achieving designated skills and experience Location: College Lane campus, University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced IT and Cyber Security professional to lead a small team of skilled IT security specialists. Main duties and responsibilities: Reporting to the Head of IT Operations, you will take day to day ownership of the Cyber Security operation. You will develop and implement effective security controls to ensure University IT systems and users are protected from existing and emerging threats. Working collaboratively with technical service leads in LCS and other stakeholders, you will deliver best practice security controls, processes and plans. Skill and experience required: You will be a confident team leader with excellent communication and organisational skills. You will have substantial knowledge and experience of: • Server systems administration and patch management • AD, ADFS, AzureAD, M365 security, SIEM, Email security, DLP, Vulnerability Assessment and management tools and NGAV • Microsoft and Amazon Cloud services • Developing Cyber Security Incident Plan (CIRP) with forensic readiness • IT Security principles and standards including GDPR and CyberEssentials Qualifications required: You will hold a minimum of a Degree or equivalent level qualification, in IT, preferably in Cyber Security or proven experience.
