An exciting opportunity for a Senior IT Officer to join our friendly IT Team at the Botnar Research Centre, within the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Science (NDORMS).

As Senior IT Officer, you will ensure that the NDORMS IT support function is providing excellent help and guidance to all members of the department. You will champion the use of IT tools (RT, Confluence, Trello/JIRA), whilst promoting best practice in procedure-based tasks. You will also manage IT quotes for departmental purchases, system administration (server patching and backup management), and work alongside the IT Manager and Information Governance Manager to ensure that security, data governance and privacy standards are met to a high standard.

You will have a passion and proven track record for providing excellent customer service, combined with extensive experience of configuring and troubleshooting desktop and mobile devices, and strong familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint). Using your excellent communication skills, you will explain complex technical problems to those with varying levels of IT expertise. You will also have excellent time management skills, enabling you to organise your workload effectively and manage competing demands.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for three years.

As part of your application, you will be required to upload a supporting statement, outlining how you meet the selection criteria using examples of your skills and experience.

The closing date for applications is midday on Wednesday 24 August 2022. If you would like further information about the post, please contact Matt Brock: matt.brock@ndorms.ox.ac.uk
