More employers leaning towards permanent staffing

By . December 20, 2018
According to a November report from REC, 84% of UK employers are planning to increase their workforce within the next three months and 76% are planning to expand their permanent staff in the next four to 12 months.

43% of UK employers are seeking to adopt the use of contractors in the next three month, while 44% employers are going to utilise contractors within the next 4 to 12 months.

Although it seems that employers are favouring permanent staff over contract employees, 88% of employers do think that contractors are important to a business. Using contractors permits employers to access skills for short term strategies that they may have put in place.

The report also goes into detail about headcount and pay. Compared to the previous year a majority of employers have increased their total workforce or have increased the pay of employees from 67% to 72%.
